How Pain is Measured
Whatever your pain or its causes, you still deserve to live your life as you choose, but first let’s take a look at the origin of both emotional and physical pain related problems.
Everyone experiences pain in different ways and at different intensities, this can on occasion make the diagnosis criteria difficult.
- Mild Pain – is individual to each person and goes away with either no therapy use at all, or with non-prescription, over the counter medications.
- Moderate Pain – is the next step up from mild pain. It may cause enough discomfort to interfere with daily life, but doesn’t completely inhibit the bodies’ effectiveness. Therefore, it is something that cannot be ignored and may require stronger medication.
- Severe Pain – is defined as pain, which interferes with daily life and inhibits the bodies’ effectiveness. In some instances leading to the sufferer being confined to their bed for rest. Severe pain will not go away over time and therefore requires continuous treatment.
